Our Bodies Are Carrying More Than We Know

What’s unfolding in our country feels heavy beyond words — the violence, the loss of innocent lives, the fear that keeps surfacing in places that should be safe. The murders in Minneapolis of people speaking out and showing up for one another have shaken me to my core. I know many of you are feeling it too. I feel grief. I feel anger. I feel a sense of hopelessness about how we move forward and how our country survives this moment.
At the same time, I am still running a business. I’m still unlocking the studio doors, teaching classes, and holding space for people who come in needing relief, grounding, and connection. That paradox is real. I feel honored to play this role, and I also feel worried, unsure, and lost at times. I don’t have all the answers. What I do have is presence- and a deep belief that we cannot keep holding all of this inside our bodies.
We cannot pretend that terrible things aren’t happening. We cannot stay silent. And we also cannot continue to flood our nervous systems with image after image of violence or watch fifteen different angles of the same murder- video after video — and expect our nervous systems to remain intact. Our bodies are keeping score. Our hearts are carrying more than they were ever meant to carry.
Our bodies are absorbing it all. And eventually, something has to move.
We have to do something physical to help process what our hearts and minds can’t carry alone. Movement doesn’t have to be perfect or polished. It can be squats in your living room. A few minutes of stretching when you wake up. A walk where you let yourself breathe deeply for the first time all day. Or, if you feel called, I would love to welcome you into the studio this week — to move alongside others who are navigating these same emotions.
This is me saying: I’m right here with you. I’m feeling the same confusion and heaviness. I don’t know exactly how we heal a country — but I know we can care for our nervous systems, our hearts, and our communities in small, meaningful ways. And that matters.
Move your body this week.
Breathe.
Release what doesn’t need to be carried.
I’m here.
The studio is here.
The community within Bee Yoga Fusion is seeking the same things you are.
You are not alone.
